Local manhole covers hailed by UNESCO website
近日，聯(lián)合國教科文組織“創(chuàng)意城市網絡”網站聚焦了漢水城市徽章文創(chuàng)井蓋。An article highlighting a series of manhole covers in Wuhan was posted recently on UNESCO's Creative Cities Network website, demonstrating the city's cultural features and strength in design.
“漢水”系列文化井蓋由球墨鑄鐵、銅等材料制成，表面圖案分彩色版和銅色版兩種，它們安裝在相應地標所在的區(qū)域，將游客、井蓋和地標放在一個場景中。每個井蓋表面都設計了二維碼，用手機掃描后，可以看到相應地標建筑的故事，以及地下供水設施和供水服務的信息。
The manhole covers, part of the "city badge of Han River" series, are made of ductile iron, copper and other materials. Their surface images are either multicolored or copper brown. Installed on scenic streets, the images depicted correspond to the landmarks of the streets. On the surface of each cover is a QR code which visitors can scan to learn stories related to these landmarks as well as information concerning water supply facilities and services in the city.

5月11日，德國杜伊斯堡市魯爾河畔，楚文化風格的中國古典園林“郢趣園”開始全面修繕，預計7月完工。
On May?11, the classical Chinese garden "Yingqu Garden" in the style of the Chu culture on the Ruhr River in Duisburg, Germany, began a renovation which is expected to be completed in July.
這座建于1987年的郢趣園每年有80萬游客，在杜伊斯堡乃至德國都很有名氣，多年來一直是杜伊斯堡人了解中國文化的窗口。歷經歲月洗刷，這座中國花園漸顯殘舊。今年2月11日，一批重40噸的園林古建材料由中歐班列（武漢）承運，從武漢市發(fā)出，經歷42天運輸，于3月25日晚8時如期抵達杜伊斯堡動物園。
The garden, which was built in 1987, receives about 800,000 visitors a year. It is very famous in Duisburg and even in Germany, and for many years has been a window into Chinese culture for the people of Duisburg. Over the years, it has become dilapidated. On Feb. 11 this year, 40 tonnes of construction materials for this ancient-style garden were transported by the China-Europe Freight Train (Wuhan) from Wuhan and arrived at the Duisburg Zoo at 8 p.m. on March 25 as scheduled after 42 days.
這次修繕工作將在六七月間完成，德方表示，驗收成功后計劃邀請武漢朋友再回郢趣園。“中國花園，是一個獨一無二的禮物，感謝你們從1987年至今的支持。”眼下，武漢友城杜伊斯堡成為80%從中國駛來的列車在歐洲經停的第一站，是德國與中國聯(lián)系最緊密的城市之一。
The restoration work will be completed before July and the German side said they plan to invite Wuhan friends back to the garden when the project passes inspections. Right now, Duisburg, Wuhan's sister city, is the first stop for 80 percent of trains coming from China to Europe and is one of the cities in Germany with the closest links to China.

5·18國際博物館日，《萬里千年——敦煌石窟考古特展》將在武漢大學萬林藝術博物館開展。5月6日晚，兩輛十多米長的大型貨車，滿載著百余件珍貴文物和四個全景復原洞窟，順利抵達武漢大學校園。從莫高窟到珞珈山，歷經五個晝夜，跨越三千公里。
An exhibition featuring Dunhuang relics will open at Wuhan University's Wanlin Art Museum on May 18, International Museum Day. Two 10-meter-long large trucks loaded with more than a hundred precious cultural relics and four restored panoramic grottoes arrived at the campus of Wuhan University on the evening of May 6. The three-thousand-kilometer journey from the Mogao Grottoes (also known as the Thousand-Buddha Caves) took five days and nights.

兩件“元青花四愛圖梅瓶”首次聚首

僅存于世的兩只元青花四愛圖梅瓶，一件入藏武漢博物館，一件入藏湖北省博物館。10日，700歲的它們首度相聚于武漢博物館，向觀眾述說各自的前世今生。
There are only two Yuan-dynasty blue and white plum vases featuring the story of "The Four Loves" (the four ancient scholars and their favorite plants) in the world. One of them is in the collection of Wuhan Museum and the other at Hubei Provincial Museum. For the first time ever, these two valuable 700-year-old treasures have been brought together at Wuhan Museum for a special exhibition, narrating their stories to the public.
元青花是中國古代青花瓷中的精品，存世的元代青花瓷器僅400余件，其中繪有人物及故事情節(jié)的更是鳳毛麟角。本次展覽為期三個月。期間，武漢博物館還將邀請相關專家進行梅瓶專題知識講座及沉浸式觀展活動。
Blue and white porcelain pieces made in the Yuan dynasty are deemed the best of the best. There are only around 400 such pieces found in the world, and among them, the ones depicting human figures and their related stories are even rarer. The free exhibition lasts three months, during which lectures on and guided tours of the two plum vases will be organized.

拿著專屬護照，武漢還可以這么玩！
Wuhan Metro 'passport'
4月23日至6月5日，武漢地鐵在10個站點設置了“地鐵護照”。游客免費領取后，可以在19個站的服務中心進行集章打卡。每一個站點的印章樣式都是附近有代表性的風景，除了把精美的印章打在官方護照上，還可以自行帶本子收藏。
From April 23 to June 5, Wuhan Metro offers "metro passports" at 10 stations. After receiving them for free, visitors can get their passports stamped at the service centers of 19 stations. Each stamp features a fancy pattern of the landscape near the corresponding station. Apart from this official "passport," travelers can also bring their own booklet to collect the stamps.
